Dr. William Columbus
Dr. William F. Columbus is one of the most highly trained and experienced corneal and refractive surgeons in the world, and he is highly regarded for his expertise in advanced LASIK techniques. He has been performing laser vision correction since FDA approval in 1996 and, to date, has performed more than 15,000 LASIK procedures for his satisfied patients. Dr. Columbus's training, credentials, reputation, and experience set him apart in the field of laser vision correction.
As one of the most skilled and knowledgeable laser vision correction doctors in the Philadelphia area, Dr. Columbus has devoted many years of study and training to developing the clinical skills and expertise necessary to perform corneal transplantation, cataract surgery, and other eye procedures. He received his medical degree from Penn State University, where he also completed his internal medicine residency. Dr. Columbus completed an ophthalmology residency in Long Island, New York at SUNY/Stonybrook, and a cornea and refractive fellowship at Cornell Medical Center in Manhattan, New York. Dr. Columbus has the distinction of having been the first resident in his ophthalmology training program to perform laser vision correction.
Dr. Columbus is certified as a specialist in the use of the Summit Apex Plus, VISX Staar S4™, and NIDEK EC-5000 lasers for vision correction and is a specialist in LASIK and PRK laser vision correction procedures. He is also a member of several organizations, including the International Society of Refractive Surgery and the Academy of Cataract and Refractive Surgery.

Robert A. Columbus, O.D. (Wilkes-Barre Office)
Dr. Robert Columbus is a 1994 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Before coming to Perfection Lasers, he was in private practice in Denver, Colorado, where he worked with well-established LASIK surgeons at several centers. Throughout his career, Dr. Robert Columbus has gained extensive knowledge and experience in preoperative and postoperative LASIK patient care. He now enjoys being in private practice with his brother, Dr. William Columbus, at Perfection Lasers.
Gelena S. Banin O.D. (Philadelphia Office)
Dr. Gelena S. Banin is a 1994 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and is one of the laser vision correction doctors at our Philadelphia office. She brings more than 10 years of experience in the management and care of laser vision correction patients to Perfection Lasers.
Ann Marie Roberts, O.D. (Harrisburg Office)
Dr. Ann Marie Roberts is a 1994 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry. She brings extensive experience in the care and management of laser vision correction patients to our Harrisburg office.
Arlene Mueller, O.D. (Harrisburg Office)
Dr. Arlene Mueller is a 1994 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Optometry, and brings more than seven years of experience in the management and care of laser vision correction patients to our Harrisburg office.
